COVERT BODY ARMOR

A dead security worker is useless for protecting your flock. Your security workers job is to interfere and stop an active shooter and one of the first things a person does if engaged is engage their most immediate threat. If all of your security people are standing around in sport coats with compact carry pistols and an active shooter comes in wearing armor and carrying a rifle they will have to be very lucky. Very little covert armor will stop rifles but properly outfitted team members will increase odds of survivability. Even if a vest only stops handguns and not rifles, it does absorb a fair amount of the rifle bullets energy making it less lethal. Currently on the fence about how much I say about armor. SAFARILAND LEVEL 2 COVERT VEST

THIS VEST HAS FULL COVERAGE SOFT ARMOR FOR HANDGUNS WITH 8"X10" RIFLE PLATES

The above vest is a Safariland Level 2 ballistic rated vest. NIJ Level 2 basically stops most 9mm and 357 magnum but not higher threats but is very trim and easy to hide. When its in its overt cover (I think its good for potential shooter or trouble maker to see at least one armored security guard) it carries *'x12" plated front and back that protect heart, lungs and spine from all handgun threats, small rifles and knives. Even if its defeated it will hopefully reduce bullets energy enough to increase survivability. stop rifles. In first photo a 6"x9" Safariland/Protech Special Threat Plate is shown laying on top before insertion. This plate is less than a 1/4" thick and stops all handgun rounds without additional armor. You will notice that this vest has pockets for two trauma plates. Behind the Safariland?Protech Dyneema construction plate we have a PACA 5"x8" soft plate to absorb blunt force trauma and additional ballistic treats. With the two plates covering majority of critical organs it gives a security officer a much better chance of survival if takes hits in a active shooter event.
